The Fresh Market has an opening for a Senior Design Manager at our corporate offices in Greensboro, NC. From our retail stores to the corporate offices join a team that works together for one common purpose, inspiring people to make everyday eating extraordinary.  The Senior Design Manager will support the Creative Director in providing creative direction and design while staying consistent to our brand identity and move forward with our new brand positioning.


  • Work with the Creative Director to develop and oversee creative concepts for in-store signage, promotions, in store publications, web site, social media, charitable initiatives, new store marketing collateral, private label packaging and labeling ensuring a consistent level of quality
  • Collaborate and/or guide the work of designers
  • Develop and design strategies that align with company goals and brand messaging
  • Utilize the brand strategy guidelines and help create and extend the brand standards.
  • Develop creative solutions turning ideas into advertising and marketing communications that resonates and attracts customers
  • Internal liaison with key departments ensuring messaging is consistent and effectively represents the brand
  • Review other retail and competitive advertising to stay current within market and industry trends
  • Work with the team of associates to deliver materials on time, on budget and brand alignment



  • Proven ability to conceptualize and design graphic applications to their completion
  • Strong abilities to evaluate design and creative execution for brand alignment and usability
  • 7+ years of experience relevant professional experience
  • Experience in supervising work of others
  • Bachelor’s degree in Art, Graphic Design, Advertising or similar
  • Demonstrated skills using Adobe CC programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Strong knowledge of the retail environment and consumer engagement strategies
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional knowledge of both on and offline communications – what works, what doesn’t and what is leading edge.
