Overview

Reporting to the Zone Vice President of Operations, this individual represents the central point of contact for Regional Managers and District Managers for all matters that involve sales, shrink, and labor control. 

Responsibilities

  • Provides analyses on store operations (e.g. new store performance, sales analyses, and guest experience). Reviews store sales numbers, cost of inventory, operational expenses, and inventory loss.  Recognizes trends and identifies issues.  Monitors tests and helps ensure compliance
  • Serve as a conduit between the office and field to provide consultation on key issues
  • Identifies and works with RMO and DM to develop plan to address store sales opportunities and/or areas for increased performance to maximize profits, improve labor productivity, and reduce shrink
  • Participates in annual budget planning, giving guidance and recommendations that reflect the goals of the zone
  • Review monthly store expenditures identifying areas of opportunity by store and make recommendations on ways to decreases expenses in the stores
  • Deliver store-level sales and operating plans for the Field, including payroll and labor goals
  • Participates in cross-functional business review meetings
  • Introduces tools, reports, and measures to maximize labor productivity through scheduling and other operational efficiencies
  • Reviews reporting and training tools that maximize effectiveness of RMO, DM, and SM roles. Analyzes exception based reporting for Regional financial reporting and operational metric reporting.  Recommends necessary tools to increase exception visibility, and performance by store.
  • Develop expense control initiatives by assessing best practices. Champions these initiatives from initial pilot efforts through complete deployment and oversees post-audit evaluations and refinements.
  • Work with RMO and DM to assist in training Store Management in tools and reports to analyze and control shrink
  • Work with RMO and DM to drive guest engagement, monitor results by store and report on opportunities to improve
  • Ability to travel 40% - 50% of the time throughout the company’s territory to include over nights and occasional weekends

 

Qualifications

  • 4 Year Degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years multi-unit management or grocery big box retailer experience
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience with labor standards and process improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Kronos, or other scheduling systems
