  • Overview

    The Fresh Market is currently recruiting for two Human Resources Business Partners, to be based in the Northeast Zone (New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina)

     

    The HRBP will oversee approximately 20 stores, and will focus on driving key HR initiatives and managing HR field operations for the assigned territory. This position reports to the Director of Field Human Resources.

    Responsibilities

    • Demonstrate strong understanding of company and HR strategy
    • Establish and maintain effective relationships across all levels of the organization to ensure high level of communication and collaboration
    • Drive talent development, including individual development plans, succession planning, and performance management
    • Educate managers on HR policies, processes and strategies and oversee implementation
    • Manage complex employee relations issues, including conducting thorough objective investigations, and communicate with the HR Service Center to fully resolve issues
    • Provide guidance and training to managers on a number of performance issues including coaching on performance improvement, documenting performance and behavioral problems, preparing performance improvement and development plans and termination documentation where required
    • Partner with management on annual merit review process, compensation changes and processes, as well as organizational structure changes, management changes, promotions, job titles, and effectively communicate plans
    • Analyze data/metrics regarding turnover and compliance, identify needs or improvement opportunities, and partner with appropriate resources to provide solutions
    • Interact proactively with management to find solutions to business issues and enable managers to better manage their business
    • Facilitate other programs and initiatives at store or regional level

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field strongly preferred
    • SPHR or PHR preferred
    • 7-10 years of progressive Human Resources experience across all competencies of HR
    • Experience supporting multiple business units across a region or territory in a consultative capacity and the capacity to work across diverse client groups
    • Strong analytical skills – proven success in using data to drive decisions
    • Strong business acumen
    • Ability to travel 80% across assigned region and to Corporate Office (Greensboro, NC)
    • Strong technology skills: Microsoft Office, Ultipro a plus
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with proven ability to juggle and reprioritize based on business demands and priorities
    • Interest in personal development and keeping “HR Current”
