Overview

This position will develop and execute an internal communications strategy for The Fresh Market while staying true and consistent to our consumer and employer brand approach. This position will be responsible for internal communications content that is delivered within our organization and will partner across all areas of the business on general communication best practices, while ensuring a clear, consistent, and effective message to all employees. This position will help drive our employee engagement and sustainability efforts by working together with common goals and a clear purpose… inspiring people to make everyday eating extraordinary.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans to announce company initiatives supporting employee engagement
  • Determine the appropriate communication method(s) when responding to multiple, sometimes overlapping and changing communication needs and audiences
  • Measure and monitor the success of internal communication programs designed to support the objectives of corporate functions
  • Facilitate regular meetings with key leaders to stay ahead of planned announcements and communication needs
  • Support communications for programs including monthly programs, leadership development, diversity initiatives, on-boarding, employee opinion survey, rewards & recognition and more
  • Build and execute an internal communications calendar
  • Manage internal social media related projects
  • Develop insights gained from employee response to new and existing strategies and make recommendations for future change
  • Ensure clear and impactful messages from senior management about company initiatives

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant experience, training and skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format, and build and maintain relationships
  • Excellent project management skills including ability to manage multiple projects or programs simultaneously
  • Ability to work consistently and with a strong attention to detail
  • Must possess a high level of interpersonal skills to work with executives, employees, manager, retail operators and external groups to present a positive image of the organization
  • Ability to translate key strategic business or financial issues into messaging that resonates with employees
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products is required
